If you’re willing to indulge me for another moment… it’s taken me so long to give you an Impeccable yarn review because the Ultimate Acrylic Yarn Comparison became an utter monster that I am STILL trying to complete (thanks to the fast-follows). Additionally, I struggle with where I am going to continue to take this blog and it’s companion social channels.

Availability of Loops & Threads Impeccable
If you’re familiar with the Loops & Threads brand, you know that Loops & Threads yarns are exclusive to Michael’s stores. I gave Loops & Threads Impeccable an availability ranking of 6 in the Ultimate Acrylic Yarn Comparison because if you don’t have a Michael’s store near you, you’ll have to go online and start thinking about shipping fees!
Impeccable’s Workability
Just in case you haven’t been around for previous blog posts, I easily suffer from hand fatigue and pain when knitting with stiff yarns. Unfortunately, Impeccable was absolutely one of those yarns that was so stiff I cannot see myself using it in a large project.
Additionally, Impeccable is a little squeaky. But thankfully it doesn’t split!
The squeakiness can be solved by using wood or bamboo knitting needles. Surprisingly, when I used bamboo needles I found that the stiffness didn’t cause quite so much hand fatigue. I don’t know why exactly this would be, since my stainless needles cause zero fatigue and pain with most yarns. But that was my experience!
Overall, I rated the workability of Impeccable at a three in the Ultimate Acrylic Yarn Comparison. It’s possible this yarn would become more workable if washing prior to beginning your project. But I have yet to test this!
Softness (aka Wearability) of Impeccable Yarn
Straight out of the skein, I did not find Impeccable to be soft or appealing. After sending it through the wash, it did soften up quite nicely though. Is it as soft as other acrylic yarns after washing? No. It’s not. I compared this in the Ultimate Acrylic Yarn Comparison and while it is still one of the least soft acrylic yarns I’ve tried, washing does make it bearable.
I was very thankfully that Impeccable softened up the way it did after washing. I knit a small sweater for my upcoming niece, and I was so worried it would stay stiff and be too uncomfortable. I experienced such relief when it came out of the wash feeling suitably soft enough for a baby.
Loops & Threads Impeccable has Superior Durability
If you’ve gotten this far, then you’ve probably gotten the impression that I am not a huge fan of Loops & Threads Impeccable. That’s true, but there is a very big BUT at the end of this.
Loops & Threads Impeccable is the most durable value yarn that I tested in the Ultimate Acrylic Yarn Comparison.

There were lots of very durable yarns in the comparison, particularly the anti-pilling yarns. But each of these yarns were almost double the price per yard. All of the other similarly priced value yarns did not have anywhere near the same durability after 15 washes. I gave this yarn a full 10 out of 10 for durability.
Would I recommend Loops & Threads Impeccable Yarn?
In a word, yes. If you look at my yarn ranking chart from the Ultimate Acrylic Yarn Comparison, you’ll see Impeccable only got an overall score of 6.6. But there are a LOT of data points that go into that ranking. From the price per yard, to the availability (multiple retailers == higher rating), softness & durability.
I made sure to be transparent with my rankings so that if you care about softness, you’d see that I do not recommend Impeccable for softness (I only ranked it a three). But if you want amazing durability at a very affordable price point, I will tell you to buy skein after skein of Loops & Threads Impeccable.
