All photos and patterns are copyright their respective owners. Click the photos and links to find the patterns and images at their source.
I am recommending these patterns based on the yarn weight and fiber content of their required yarn. Most yarns substitute quite well when these two features are the same, but I can make no guarantees that Loops & Threads Creme Cotton will be direct substitution. Be sure to check your gauge and use your best judgement when substituting yarns.

Knitting Patterns for Loops & Threads Creme Cotton
Ginger by Kim Hargreaves
(FREE Knitting Pattern)
First up is Ginger by Kim Hargreaves! This is a super cute tank top reminiscent of 2002. The pattern is available for free, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a beginning knitter. I knit the Ginger Tank in Loops & Threads Creme Cotton and it turned out beautiful!
Back Porch Shawl by Diana Poirier
(FREE Knitting Pattern)
If you’re a beginning knitter, the Back Porch Shawl from Diana Poirier is a wonderful knit for Creme Cotton! Knitting this shawl in a cotton yarn makes it perfect for those summer evenings as the sun goes down.
Seapoint Lace Capelet by Tabetha Hedrick
(Paid Knitting Pattern)
If you love shawls, but would like something with a little more “wow” factor, check out the Seapoint Lace Capelet! Loops & Threads Creme Cotton is a fuzzy chain cotton yarn just like Juniper Moon Cumulus so it should substitute nicely.
Ripple Crop Top Worsted by Jessie Maed Designs
(A “Choose-What-You-Pay” Knitting Pattern)
One cannot leave out the amazing #sizeinclusive patterns from Jessie Maed Designs! You can knit the Ripple Crop Top in bust sizes ranging from 29″ to 61″!
Flax Sweater by Tin Can Knits
(FREE Knitting Pattern)
Are you comfortable modifying patterns? If you spend any amount of time looking at free patterns, you’re probably familiar with the Flax Sweater from Tin Can Knits. I can imagine a cropped version of this sweater knit in Loops & Threads Creme Cotton. Just substitute the garter stitch panel for a lace pattern and you’ll have a great pullover for summer evenings.
Crochet Patterns to Try
A Here Comes the Sun Shawl
by Stitch with Passion
(FREE Crochet Pattern)
If you’re new to crochet, this simple one row repeat shawl is a cinch! Generously sized, you can add a tassle (or more) for extra pizzazz.
Elegant Hat by Caron
(FREE Crochet Pattern)
Thinks hats are an underrated accessory? Just about any hat knit in a cotton like Loops & Threads Creme Cotton would be perfect for summer. But I think this one from Caron is especially cute. Creme Cotton isn’t quite as stiff as Caron acrylic so you may end up with a less rigid brim. It’s your preference!
Peak-a-Boo Button Wrap by Miss Neriss
(Paid Crochet Pattern)
If you’re a fan of layering, this Peek-a-Boo wrap is a perfect project for Creme Cotton yarn. The pattern originally calls for Scheepjes Stone Washed XL, an Aran weight cotton/acrylic blend. The Creme Cotton should be a good substitute!
Summer Bee Crochet Dress
by coffee and crocheting
(Paid Crochet Pattern)
If you love a summer dress, try the Summer Bee Dress. This pattern calls for Wool & The Gang’s Shiny Happy Cotton – a much heavier yarn (155 yards in 100g. Knitting this dress in Creme Cotton, you will end up with a lighter weight garment (200+ yards in 100g).
Indian Summer Tank
by Dora Does
(Paid Crochet Pattern)
If you’re more of a tank kind of gal, then this textured tank will be perfect for summer. Loops & Threads Creme Cotton is a little chunkier than the called for Lily Sugar n’ Cream, but the lightweight nature of this yarn means the tank won’t be any heavier! It’s a good substitution if you prefer a slightly chunkier look to your stitches.
What I would NOT Knit or Crochet with Loops & Threads Creme Cotton!
Creme Cotton is a hand wash yarn and is not as durable as your average cotton yarn! I put this to the test. The yarn shrinks in the dryer and begins to pill in less than 10 washes in a machine. For that reason I would not make any of the following patterns with this yarn!
- Bag Knitting or Crochet Patterns – unless you use a different yarn on the bottom where the bag will receive the most wear.
- Baby Knitting or Crochet Patterns – the little ones can dirty their items very quickly and machine washing/drying is the only way to go. That rules out Creme Cotton yarn!
- Dishcloths – Again, Creme Cotton is not your standard, durable cotton yarn! It’s also blended with nylon, so save this cotton for your wearables instead.
- Anything you are not willing to hand wash. Doesn’t matter if it’s a sweater or a cardigan, if you are not willing to hand wash and lay flat to dry, it is going to look worn in less than 10 washes.
